Heavy considering this is now Trek's climbing bike. Emonda cancelled. I have a 2017 Trek Emonda that comes in at 14 lbs ready to ride.

Honestly, I don't like that matte color. I liked the previous gen more. Way more.

Not a big fan of the tan / brown on the rubber but despite that shes a beauty!

A beautiful bike for sure, but you could also likely buy a pretty nice used motorcycle for the same price

I bought mine pre pandemic. I love it. I got rid of the plastic pedals with metal , the cheap seat it comes with ,to a split seat,better grips. And added a Bontrager rack/ bag system. Living in east,central Illinois. In cooler weather you might start out in a sweatshirt,then you get warm,so I have a bag to throw it in. 😊

Heavy, not far off an emtb nowadays, rear disc, too small for a medium to extra-large on 29ers; maybe okay on a small bike with a small person. The 180s are quite hard to stop on a Tektro single piston! I remember when I was a kid, Tektro on BMXs was amazing, pretty much top of the line on GT, etc. It's funny how they're way down there now with the likes of another massive brand, RST forks, now as bad as Zoom! It all depends on the price of this Trek and what needs changing out before the first ride! The narrow tire is good for the road. I won't even go there with SR Suntour; never again for me, personally. They just about wrote them off one time! Coil sprung with preload failed massively and stuck down totally collapsed : £450 UK in sales just now, down from £650. That's not bad; it's a great frame to build up!

I already have a marlin 5, but it is showing its age, do you think it is worth to upgrade to a new gen trek marlin 5?

The trend toward fewer gears is a good one, but why are the FX 1 and 2 both 2x set ups with 16 and 18 speeds respectively, and the FX 3 is 1x10? What’s the reasoning by Trek?

I've got a Fuji with 26 inch wheels that's about 20 years old and it's still kick ass. Don't know the model of it though cuz I found it on the side of the road and it must have been stolen before because someone spray-painted it.

you mentioned around 1:20 that the bh59 hose can easily be upgrade to to bh90 hose, does that mean I can easily attach the caliper to a brake that uses a bh90? I am looking at this to mount with a grx lever
